Youth Programs

From kindergarten to high school we encourage youth to enjoy and learn life’s benefits of golf. The Country Club of Green Valley supports the national First Tee program with both instruction and practice at the club. The program is in conjunction with the First Tee of Tucson. Sessions for beginning and intermediate junior golfers are offered through the year. Coaches are volunteers who have formal training through the First Tee Organization.

We also host the Sahuarita and Walden Grove Boys’ and Girls’ High School Golf Teams as their practice and match play golf facility.

The Country Club also supports charitable organizations through allowing the use of the course and other facilities for fund raising tournaments and activities. This included a two-day Nancy Lopez clinic that was organized by our friend and fellow CCGV member, PGA and LPGA Pro, Marvol Barnard.

Likewise, the Country Club of Green Valley supports the Green Valley/Sahuarita Chapter of the LPGA Girls’ Golf Program.  This program is run by Marvol Barnard.

Marvol Barnard is a member of the Ladies Professional Golf Association’s Professionals Division (the teaching arm of the LPGA) and a proud member of the Professional Golf Association of America (PGA). She currently serves as the National President of the LPGA Professionals, elected to her second three-year term in 2022.

Her focus and passion is on growing the game of golf for girls and women, and in introducing them to the countless business and social opportunities that are available through participation in the sport.
